A smile makeover can be a great life-changing experience. Modern dentistry allows us to transform anyone's smile into a "work of art." By using techniques such as whitening, orthodontics, veneers, crowns and bonding almost any kind of smile can be created.
What is involved with a smile makeover?
First, we need to understand what you want. Once we have an idea of what your overall goals are, we can begin designing your smile.
Second, diagnostic infomation is gathered such as radiographs, photographs and diagnostic models of your teeth and gums. The diagnostic models are replicas of your mouth.
Third, a mock up is made upon your diagnostic models to serve as a 3-D blueprint of what your smile could look like. Your input is used to make sure the size, length, shape, etc. is the way you want it.
Forth, the teeth are prepared to make room for the porcelain. Impressions are then take for the dental technician to build your smile in their lab. In the meantime, you'll be wearing temporary restorations. The temporary restorations are made in the form of the mock up. Therefore, you get try out your new smile in a "prototype." This will give you a chance to try out the new smile and evaluate it's look, feel and function. The temporary restorations are very esthetic. No one will know you're wearing them.
Fifth, the temporary restorations are removed and the final restorations (veneers and/or crowns) are tried in. If you like them we "glue" them into place and your done!
